SG systems integrators (the SAP B1 partners, the Odoo partners, the Synergix resellers) earn a percentage of the sale or a recurring license cut. The advice they give you is shaped by who pays them the most.

Consultants without technical depth give you a framework but cannot evaluate whether the system’s data model actually fits your manufacturing workflow.

Demo evaluation

We join your vendor demos as a second technical eye. We ask the questions vendors prefer you do not ask. We document what we see against the scorecard.

Build-vs-buy recommendation

We tell you plainly whether any vendor on the market fits your workflow, or whether a custom build would outperform them for less cost over a 3-year horizon.

All four are written documents you own. They can be used with any future vendor, any future advisory, or as an internal IT brief. Engagement cost: S$3,000 – S$8,000 depending on scope and number of vendors evaluated.

Why would I pay for vendor selection advice when vendors give free demos?+

Because the vendor giving the demo earns a commission if you buy. Their job is to close you. Our job is to tell you whether their system actually fits — or whether a cheaper alternative or a custom build would outperform it for your specific workflow.

How is this different from a standard Start Canyon paid discovery?+

Paid discovery assumes you are building something custom. RFP support is for manufacturers who are evaluating off-the-shelf options (Odoo, SAP B1, Synergix, etc.) alongside custom build, and need a neutral party to score them honestly.

Do you have any vendor affiliations?+

No. Start Canyon has no referral agreements with SAP, Odoo, Synergix, or any other vendor. We earn only from the advisory engagement. That is the structural reason our recommendation is different from anyone with a vendor affiliation.

What if I decide to build custom after the selection process?+

The requirements brief and scorecard we produce are inputs into our paid discovery. If you engage us for a custom build afterwards, we apply the RFP support cost as a credit against the discovery fee.

How long does the engagement take?+

Requirements brief: 3–5 business days. Vendor scorecard: 2–3 days. Demo evaluation: runs in parallel with your existing schedule. Build-vs-buy recommendation: part of the final written handover. Total: 2–4 weeks depending on how many vendors are in scope.
